FIRST REFORMED CHURCH of COXSACKIE

WHAT IS THE REFORMED CHURCH IN AMERICA?

The Reformed Church in America is one of the Great historical churches to come out of the sixteenth century Reformation.  Along with other denominations we trace our heritage back to the reforming activities of John Calvin.  Within the United States we date to 1628, making us the oldest Protestant denomination in America with a continuous history.  Today we are a worldwide denomination.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The First Reformed Church is committed to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  We believe the church is a community of faith where the Bible is preached, taught, and revered.  We encourage each member to discover their God-given gifts and to use them for their mission on sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.  We believe in living the love of Christ, in accepting one another, and in building each other up with the help of the Holy Spirit.  We believe in worship, which emphasizes celebration of God’s holiness, love, mercy, and grace in His children.  We are a worshipping, witnessing, praying, rejoicing community of faith and hope walking in obedience and waiting for the return of Jesus Christ

WE INVITE YOU

We, the members of the First Reformed church, are not our own, but belong to Jesus Christ, our faithful Savior; God, our faithful Creator; and the Holy Spirit, our faithful Counselor.  Our faith is expressed in our daily living and love for others.  We would like to extend an invitation to you to come and worship with us.
